Happy 2012! We are hoping this is the year of uneventful, slightly boring, everyday life...with the exception of Benjamin who is growing, teething, chattering, and almost walking. He is never uneventful...ever!
Given that it is 2012 and you are all itching to see all of the adorable pictures of our little man's first Christmas, I thought I would do a very brief run through of the last half of 2011. Please, grab a seat, something yummy to drink, and enjoy the adventures of our adorable Ben.
August
| Bath time at the Moellers! |
At 6 months, we were finally able to give Ben some solid foods starting with baby cereal. Currently, Benjamin loves apples, blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, and does not like homemade carrots. He is now starting to eat some of what we are having for dinner. He is a great eater, just like his Daddy!
| Mom, I can do this myself. |
| I told her I could do it but she insisted on helping. |
Benjamin is a big helper and enjoys helping with the laundry, shopping, and making sure Daddy is working.
| Look what I can do! Let's go shopping! |
| Daddy, let me show you how to do this. You just push this button right here... |
We also went to the zoo for the first time...twice! Once with Grammy Ellen and Grandpa Bob and once with Nana Linda and Grandpa Mike!
| This is going to be sweet! |
Benjamin also got to see some really special people, like Great-Grandpa George, Stoney, and Justin Bieber!
| This is my Great-Grandpa George and he is going to teach me to drink pickle juice some day. Just don't look, Mommy. |
| Did you see that, Stoney? Maybe it's a ball! |
| Yup, I've got Bieber Fever. I admit it. Baby, Baby, Baby! Oooo! |
Benjamin was invited to his first pool party!
| Chicks dig me in my swim suite. |
September
| You all are in trouble. I've learned that I am cute! |
September brought a special moment for Daddy: watching a University of Michigan football game with his son. As you can see, Mommy tried to turn Ben for her alma mater (go WMU Broncos!)!
| Give me a coke and some popcorn! I'm ready for the game. |
| Oh Mommy. Really? Masking tape that says Broncos? |
Sitting up unassisted became a new skill, conferences were needed, and Mr. Crunchy was his favorite.
| Shirley, why are you interrupting our meeting? ... Well, do they have an appointment? |
| Mr. Crunchy knew he would be replaced, he just didn't know how soon. |
We had lots of baseball games, baths, and "I don't want to take a nap" crying.
| Don't bother me. I'm watching baseball! |
| This is just ducky. Where are my rubber duckies? |
| I told them I didn't want to take a nap. They didn't listen so I pulled out the snot and made sure to get some on her shirt. |
Mommy and Daddy got to go out twice! 2 Michigan weddings were a joyous event for us to be a part of!
| Enjoying the Horn reception while Ben was at Nana's and Grandpa's with Aunt Cece...cutting his first tooth. We love you Cece! |
| Getting ready to head to the Johnson wedding. Ben came to the ceremony and then Mommy and Daddy went unsupervised to the reception! |
September also held Grandpa Mike's and Daddy's birthdays!
| Don't try any funny business. This is my Daddy's cake. I've got my eye on you. |
| Yay Grandpa!! |
| Wait, Grandpa is how old!? |
October
| There is nothing behind me...definitely no toys. |
Benjamin watched, actually watched, his first video! Baby Mozart.
| Huh? Yeah, I heard you... Did you say something? |
The crib was dropped to its lowest height as our son tried to figure out how to escape.
| Look how big I am! This is way better than napping! |
Back to the zoo we go, this time with our friends! What a great play date! Please note: You can tell I am the first time mom based on the amount of bundling of poor little Ben compared to his friends. hehe!
| Play date at the zoo! Check us out rollin' in style! |
Daddy introduced Benjamin to the joys of a simple box and Ben showed us his fondness for Daddy's slippers...don't ask.
| Yes, my daddy put that cup in there to lure me into the box. |
| Daddy's slippers at the best. They are high on my hierarchy of likes. |
Our little froggy was the cutest trick-or-treater!
| Ribbit. Give me candy! |
November
| Turkey! Stuffing! Sweet Potatoes! Oh My! Traveling to Michigan for Thanksgiving. |
We played in laundry baskets, played with coasters, and got in to zero trouble...well, maybe just a little.
| How did I get in this thing!? |
| Coasters! Sweet! |
| If we stay very still she won't notice us making trouble. |
Mommy's birthday was celebrated twice, which meant twice the amount of wrapping paper to play with!
| Shiny! |
| For Mommy's birthday, the Packers beat the Lions! Boo-yah! |
We traveled to Michigan for Thanksgiving and spent Thanksgiving day at Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jen's house. As you can see, we are a divided house when it come to the Lions vs. Packers game. Benjamin, of course, is a Packers fan, though I think Corduroy Bear might be a Lions fan based on Ben's face. He also got to meet Great-Grandma Linda and Great-Grandpa Tom!
| Look at our happy family on Thanksgiving. |
| Yes, we have issues. Corduroy Bear is a Lions fan! No! |
| Now I've met all my living great grandparents! |
December
| Benjamin cookies are so yummy! |
Fortunately for Mommy and Daddy's sanity, Benjamin had no interest in the Christmas tree itself, only the flashy, shiny, sparkly things that went on it!
| My first ornament was the first one on the tree this year! |
| Check out my two teeth! All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth! |
| Yes! Something shiny I'm allowed to touch! |
| Pants? Are you talking about pants? I'm just trying to decorate for Christmas! |
Whew! As you can see, we have been having tons of fun learning, playing, and laughing. Next up, Benjamin's first Christmas!!
